What is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is actually a group of eye diseases that cause damage to the optic nerve due to an increase in pressure inside the eye or intraocular pressure (IOP). When detected in the early stages, glaucoma can often be controlled, preventing severe vision loss and blindness. However, symptoms of noticeable vision loss often only occur once the disease has progressed. This is why glaucoma is called “the sneak thief of sight”. Unfortunately, once vision is lost from the disease, it usually can’t be restored. For More Information click here.
Your Eye Health & Vision Loss
The new color vision test is the Rabin Cone Contrast Test by INNOVA
Detects both hereditary and acquired color vision loss
Unlike other color vision tests, the Rabin Cone Contrast Test measures the severity of cone function loss, and tracks cone function over time, aiding in the detection of disease as well as monitoring disease progression and efficacy of treatment.
For example, if you have Dry AMD, the cones in your eye degenerate. The Rabin Cone Contrast Test allows us to see how much damage AMD has done to your eye or determine the stage of the disease.
Thursday and Saturday exam slots are available by appointment only.
